1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how the FitKit mobile application ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information. FitKit is a collection of fitness and health calculators (BMI, calories, macros, one-rep max, fasting planner and more) designed to work locally on your device. We built FitKit to collect as little data as possible.

By using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information Stored Only on Your Device

To perform its calculations, the App asks for details such as:

Age, biological sex, height and weight
Activity level and fitness goals
Optional measurements you enter (body fat, waist, hips, resting heart rate, etc.)
Saved calculator results, progress log entries, streaks and achievements
Preferences such as units (metric/imperial) and theme

All of this information is stored locally on your device only. It is never uploaded to our servers, never sold, and never shared with anyone. If you uninstall the App, or use the "Start over" option inside Settings, this data is permanently deleted from the device.

3. Information You May Choose to Share With Us

During onboarding, the App offers an optional form where you may share your full name, email address and telephone number in exchange for personalised health suggestions. This step is completely skippable and the App works fully without it.

If you choose to submit this form, the information is transmitted securely and stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore). We use it only to:

Provide you with health and fitness suggestions
Contact you about the App if you have asked us to

We do not sell this information. You may request its deletion at any time by contacting us at the email address in Section 10, and we will delete it within 30 days.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App is free and supported by advertising served by Google AdMob. The App shows occasional interstitial ads and optional rewarded ads (which you choose to watch to unlock features such as Pro Insights or an ad-free period).

AdMob, as a third-party advertising provider, may collect and use:

Your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / Apple IDFA)
Approximate location derived from IP address
Device information (model, operating system, app usage signals) for ad delivery, frequency capping and fraud prevention

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time in your device settings: on Android under Settings → Google → Ads, and on iOS under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

5. What We Do NOT Collect

No account, login or password is ever required
No precise (GPS) location data
No contacts, photos, camera, microphone or files access
No health data is read from or written to Google Fit / Apple Health
Your calculator inputs and results never leave your device

In short: your health and fitness data stays on your phone. The only personal data we ever receive is the name, email and phone number you may voluntarily submit — and you can skip that entirely.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

On-device data: kept until you delete it. Use Settings → Start over for a new person inside the App to erase profiles, results and progress, or simply uninstall the App.
Voluntarily submitted contact details: kept until you ask us to delete them. Email us and we will remove your record within 30 days.
Advertising data: retained by Google under Google's retention policies; we never see or store it.

7. Security

Data you submit through the optional contact form is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored in Google Firebase, which maintains industry-standard security certifications. On-device data is protected by your device's own security (screen lock, encryption). No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but we minimise risk by simply not collecting data we do not need.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ad content is rated for general audiences (PG or below). If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the contact form, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Not Medical Advice

FitKit provides estimates based on general, well-established formulas (such as BMI, Mifflin-St Jeor and the US Navy body fat method). Results are for informational purposes only and are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always consult a qualified health professional before changing your diet, exercise, fasting or sleep routine, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition or take medication.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised policy.
